1. The Race

Can I walk some or all of the course?
Walking some of the course is fine but we do ask you do your best to finish within an hour and a half to allow for events after the 10k to take place within the grounds.
If you would like to build up your fitness levels in the lead-up to the event, then why not join a local running club like the Ealing Eagles.
What’s the address of the event?

The race will be held in Osterley Park, Jersey Road, Isleworth, TW7 4RD.

Public transport:
Car: TW7 4RD (Sat Nav Postcode)
Underground: Osterley, Piccadilly Line (15 minute walk)
Bus: H28 Hayes to Hounslow to Osterley, H91 Hounslow to Hammersmith (1 mile)
Train: Isleworth (1½ miles)

Parking is charged at £7.00 per car by the National Trust.
There will be limited parking on site and it is advisable not to drive if you can avoid it. Due to the park being open to the public, parkrun and hundreds of runners being expected the car parks are likely to be full so please arrive in plenty of time if you require a space.

Alternative parking is available on the roads outside. Residents parking is not in effect on a Saturday but please allow for at least a 15 minutes’ walk to the house inside the grounds and time to store your bag in the secure room before heading to the start.

What’s the route?

The race takes you along a mixture of grass, trails, pavement and off-road footpaths.

2. The Course

Will there be much traffic on the course?

Most of the course is contained inside the park. However a small part of the course leaves the park through the main gates and turns left along the pavement area of Jersey Road so please be careful along this stretch of the route. Headphones are not permitted under any circumstances because of this.

 

3. Race Entry

Can I get a refund, transfer to another runner or defer my entry to next year’s race?

As per our T&Cs when you sign up we are unable to offer refunds or deferral of entries for any circumstance.

We are a not-for-profit organisation and not a commercial venture and the moment you enter our race we start to incur administration costs and banking charges, simply in processing your entry and payment. We also incur further charges in administering cancellations and processing refund payments. 

However, we do understand circumstances change so you can update your address free of charge up to 15th October 2017 by logging into your RiderHQ account, click on “Edit Entry” link under “Actions” drop-down and amend details.

From 15th October 2017: You can update your race details for a £10.00 fee. The data is processed from this date October onward, race chips are programmed and race packs prepared. To amend any information please email info@ealinghalfmarathon.com to make payment and advise of the changes required.

No further changes or transfers can be made after 31st October 2017.

Race numbers must not be passed on to another runner.

Can I still enter the Osterley Park 10k?

Yes, places are available to our Osterley Park winter 10k. Once sold out, no further race places will be released.

We are also looking for volunteers if you have a friend or family member who would like to come and cheer you on. They simply need to register here.

How old do I need to be to enter?

All participants must be 17 years old or over on the day of the race.  This age limit is set by England Athletics and is a condition of our race insurance.

When does registration close?

The Osterley Park Winter 10k will close on 31st October or when the race is full, whichever is sooner.

There are no entries available on the day.

When will I receive my race pack?

Race packs will be posted out in the days leading up to the event.

It is your responsibility to keep your address updated if you move. Your race entry fee only covers one race pack, one timing chip and one postage.

You can update your address free of charge up to 15th October 2017 by logging into your RiderHQ account, click on “Edit Entry” link under “Actions” drop-down and amend details.

From 15th October 2017: You can update your race details for a £10.00 fee. The data is processed from this date October onward, race chips are programmed and race packs prepared. To amend any information please email info@ealinghalfmarathon.com to make payment and advise of the changes required.

No further changes or transfers can be made after 31st October 2017.

Race numbers must not be passed on to another runner and can result in a DNQ from the event plus a ban from all our other races.

4. Support a Charity

Can I choose to raise money for another charity of my choice?

Yes, it’s entirely a personal decision.

You could choose to jointly raise funds for your chosen charity and the Headline Charity Youth Music and many online donation sites allow you to do this.

Do I have to raise a minimum amount for charity?

If you choose to run for a charity they will have their own terms, please contact them direct for details.

Can I wear headphones or listen to an mp3 player during the race

UKA RULING:

RULE 240 S 5 UKA SUPPLEMENT – HEADPHONES The wearing of headphones, or similar devices, (other than those medically prescribed), is not permitted in races on any single carriageway road that is not wholly closed to traffic. This restriction does not apply to races held on dual carriageways provided that there are clear, structured separations between the separate carriageways. Competition Providers of races held entirely on roads closed to traffic may apply this condition where appropriate to local circumstances“.

For reasons of runner safety and in order that you can hear marshals’ instructions, headphones are not permitted at this event. Osterley Park 10k includes a section of running on Jersey Road so please adhere to the rules or disqualification will apply.

What time does the race start?

The race will start at 10:30am on Saturday 9th December 2017.  Please make sure you arrive at the Race Village in Osterley Park in plenty of time to deposit your baggage and enjoy the atmosphere and warmup.

Will there be pacers leading groups?

Yes. We’ll use experienced runners from running clubs such as the Ealing Eagles as pacers to lead a wide range of pace groups to their target time.

Look out for the pacers on Race Day, they’ll be clearly visible.

Will you be using Chip Timing for the race?

Yes, we’ll be using Chip Timing to ensure that all runners receive an accurate personal time in addition to the gun time.

Timing chips are distributed in the race packs. Sensors are triggered at the start and finish line so that an accurate personal time can be given for each participant.

Please be careful with your race number, take care not to bend it and be careful not to pierce the chip when pinning to the front of your running top.

6. Post Race

Do I receive a medal at the finish line?

Yes.

All finishers will receive a quality commemorative medal, specially designed for the Osterley Park 10k.

Where can I find photographs after the race?

Volunteer Photographers will be positioned at key points throughout the course and on the finish line to capture the achievement of the runners. The photos will be free to download from our Facebook page after the race.

Every effort will be made to take good photos of all participants, but it’s not always possible to do this.

Where can I find the results?

Our results are available on our website here immediately after the event.

 

 

Will there be a goody bag waiting for me after the race?

There is a small goody bag for finishers.
